The marriage process

Initial paperwork

First we’ll need to complete a Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) at least a month before your wedding.

The NOIM requires us to record info about you and your parents. You’ll need to show me evidence of your date and place of birth, photo ID, and proof that any past marriages have ended.

The ceremony

Next we work together to draft the perfect ceremony that represents you as a couple. The ceremony must include some minimum legal components, but otherwise it’s really up to you. Some people just do the minimum, others add readings, rituals, blessings or music.

I can give you sample ceremonies, books and weblinks to give you inspiration, and to make sure you include all the special people in your ceremony.

We also complete another document before the wedding, stating that you are legally able to marry.

Your wedding day

On the day I arrive at least 20 mins before your ceremony to set up my PA system and get in the zone for your Noosa wedding! We sign 3 certificates on the day, one of which is a presentation certificate that you keep. Afterwards, I register your wedding with Queensland Births, Deaths and Marriages.

How much?

Prices depend on what you want – the big fat bonanza wedding at a Noosa or Sunshine Coast venue, or a quick and simple legal wedding without much customisation. You choose!
